I'm in a dilemma now... I am getting myself a new entry level DSLR(the 350d ain't mine, however). The problem is, I do not know which to choose, these are the options in my list. I need help from you to help me choose...
Canon EOS 400D
Nikon D70s
Olympus E500 EVOLT
Aside from the boosting in megapixel and the dust reduction in the 400D. I expected more, but sadly kit lens are the same with the 350D and to me... that the only improvement for the 400D. Though it takes excellent quality photos, but still, its not enough...
Thumbs ups:
* Excellent photo quality (though see issue below)
* Very low noise, even at high ISOs
* Dust reduction system
* Large 2.5" LCD display
* Full manual controls, including nice white balance controls
* Robust performance, especially in terms of continuous shooting
* Flash-based AF-assist lamp; very good low light focusing, even without using it
* Redeye not a problem
* Hot shoe for external flash
* Optional battery grip
* USB 2.0 High Speed support
* Capable RAW editor and remote camera control software included
Thumbs down:
* Images on the soft side at default settings
* Small, hard to hold body; feels too "plasticky" in my opinion
* Below average battery life
* No spot metering
* No 2 second or custom self-timer
While the D70s is "obsolete" in some terms, but I've seen great reviews and great photos taken by this lil piece of badass

the plus side is the lens it offered in a kit. a decent 18-70mm lens which to someone who's in a big budget like me is quite a bargain:
Thumbs ups:
* Excellent photo quality
* Very well built, feels solid in your hands
* Full manual controls
* Robust performance; impressive continuous shooting mode when a fast memory card is used; fast AF system
* All the expandability you'd expect from a D-SLR
* Excellent battery life (though some CIPA standard numbers would be helpful)
* RAW, RAW+JPEG supported
* No redeye
* Great low light focusing ability
* Framing grid can be superimposed on viewfinder
Thumbs down:
* Images aren't overly sharp at default settings (normal for D-SLRs)
* Moiré can be a problem
* No USB 2.0 High Speed support
* Included software doesn't allow for RAW image manipulation; that and remote camera control require $100 Nikon Capture software
* No battery grip available (though a third party option may be available)
The olympus E500 EVOLT is what i can say some how "well rounded". Though the colors aren't that saturated. But it comes with a great value in a dual lens kit. It has the dust reduction... well, see for yourself:
Thumbs ups:
* Excellent photo quality (though see issue below)
* Great value
* Well designed, attractive body (unlike the E-300); doesn't feel cheap
* Dust reduction system
* All the expandability you'd expect from a D-SLR; hot shoe for external flash
* Large LCD easy to see outdoors; shows shooting info; allows for easy setting changes
* Full manual controls and then some
* Very good performance in nearly all areas
* RAW, RAW+JPEG supported; RAW images can be edited right on the camera
* AF-assist lamp (though only when flash is popped up)
* Dual memory card slots
* Redeye not a problem
* Capable Olympus Master software included
Thumbs down:
* Images a bit noisier than competition at high ISOs; some jaggies
* Startup time is slower than other D-SLRs due to dust reduction system
* Burst mode could be better
* Only three focus points
* No battery grip available
* No LCD info display on top of camera
* No USB 2.0 High Speed support
Guys, im talking about value and bargain here. Three of these camera have very good quality and stuffs... It's just hard for me
I need help.
